Pavilion in a parkland setting

Kennedy Woods Architecture have been engaged by a south county Dublin Golf Club to design a new multi purpose space for use by the club and its members for social events.

Ground Floor Plan

The scheme proposes to locate a single storey pavilion addressing a new terrace and formal lawn on a sloping site between the 18th green and the existing club house. The pavilion has been designed to sit into the landscape beyond the elevated 18th green allowing unobstructed views over the top of the building to the golf course beyond. The scheme comprises two linear blocks, a lower service and admin block addressing the car park and a more prominent multi-function block addressing the golf course, new terrace and formal lawn. The scheme also proposes a green roof with roof lights punched into it to allow natural daylight into the space below.

The scheme also proposes a linear wall projecting from the pavilion into the landscape to create a defined end to the golf course and forms a strong border to the proposed formal lawn to which the pavilion addresses.
