Woods Architecture & Project Management were engaged by a private client to design and oversee the extension and renovation of a large early 1980's detached dwelling in Donnybrook in Dublin. Despite the scale of the dwelling which benefitted from generous bedrooms and reception rooms, the kitchen & dining area was not in keeping with the remainder of the house.

 

The new scheme proposed a small 14sqm single storey, predominantly glazed, flat roof extension to the rear of the dwelling wrapping around the kitchen block and the removal of the existing rear walls to the kitchen, the addition of a pantry and the replanning of the kitchen. The scheme also included the conversion of the existing partially utilised large attic space to provide an additional guest bedroom, bathroom, two offices and new stairs and landing.
